“Putin has been lying to the world”

Professor Stefan Auer from the European Studies Programme at the University in Hong Kong, discusses Putin’s responsibility on the shooting of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17.
In the interview, Dr. Auer shared his point on how Russia has been lying to the world and to his own people about Russia’s direct role in the shoot-down; and how important it is for the West to impose tougher sanctions on Russia.
Dr. Auer concluded by asserting that a cease of fire is unlikely since the both sides – the Ukrainian government and the pro-Russian separatists, have different interests on their own. Moreover, it is not possible to trust pacts with pro-Russian separatists which he considered “a bunch of terrorists with amazing weapons”
