The excess of waste materials is an increasing concern worldwide. It is not easy to find an appropriate method to recycle when the waste exponentially grows each year. In order to tackle this issue, the European Union has set rigid and specific goals to optimize recycling by 2020.

Vincent Wang, Curriculum Development Assistant at the European Union Academic Programme in Hong Kong was invited in May 2014 to Radio Chinwag to further discuss environmental issues and solutions in the EU. The following programme has several activities that will get you in touch with surprising and innovative methods used by European countries to prevent the excess of garbage from filling their lands. This will give you a further idea on how you can help your school, your neighborhood and even your city Hong Kong to prevent them from drowning in garbage.
