Ms Louise Lundberg is a landscape architect and owner of the company Grönare Stad AB (Greener City Inc.). She designs, plans, installs and maintains green roofs, gardens and urban farming projects, including aquaponics and works internationally as lecturer on sustainable city development. In 2013, she was part of a team to win the Scandinavian Green Roof Award for creating a park on top of Emporia, one of Scandinavia’s largest shopping malls in Malmö.
Ms Jacinta Chow is a Senior Project Manager at the Architectural Services Department, HKSAR Government.
In this workshop, you will be able to follow the construction of
(1) the 27,000 square metre roof park built on the shopping centre Emporia in Malmö, Sweden; and
(2) the 23,000 square metre park built on the top of Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, which is Hong Kong’s
largest public roof park.
You will get an insight in the planning processes, from an early stage of planning to the finished parks. The technical details of construction will be shown. Other details like landscape design concept, planting design concept, landscape master plan, shading strategy and landscape features will be covered. There will be a discussion on the role of green roofs in improving urban resilience against climate change, as well as other environmental issues, including the educational and recreational aspects.
