Dr. Gillet, Prof. Barbosa, Dr. Kern and Mr. Chow

Prof. Barbosa, Dean of the Faculty of Creative Industries of the USJ in Macau, provided the background information about the Faculty of Creative Industries and examined the role of education, technology trends and the socio-economic potential of creating jobs and wealth from the creative industries. Dr. Gillet, Visiting Scholar of the EUAP, shared his insights about IP protection in the EU, Hong Kong and Macau. After introducing the overview of the legal aspect in different jurisdictions, he advised the audience some strategies of protecting IPR.

In the panel discussion session, Mr. Philippe Kern shared his insights and experience on advising the EU and the member states how to develop CCI in the EU. The speakers and the audience interacted on the topics of how to raise IP awareness among designers in Macau and how to develop CCI in Macau. It was suggested that more effort could be put in enhancing IP awareness in Macau.
