Judge Lech Garlicki delivered a presentation on the phenomenon of the co-existence of two supranational jurisdictions on Human Rights in Europe – the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union. By first giving the background, structure and the functioning of the two Courts, Judge Lech Garlicki then examined how the two Courts cooperate and pinpointed the possible complexity with the illustration of some cases. In the Q&A session, Judge Lech Garlicki gave more insights on how the two courts can better coordinate.
