EAP (Europe Asia Policy Centre for Comparative Research)
Outreach. Academic. Exchange. Cooperation
The EUAP aims to set up a series of events (seminars, talks, workshops) in fall/winter 2014 and winter/spring 2015 with the overall theme of ‘Urban Innovations’ (UI). It will present European current thinking in issues of urban development, solutions for urban problems, and the network of cooperation among European cities/regions as it is supported by the European Union. The issues will be of significance to Hong Kong – thereby contributing to an enhanced dialogue and people-to-people contacts between HK and the EU.
We are aware that there is already regular expert ‘urban exchange’ between Hong Kong and some of the urban regions. The EUAP offers to widen this dialogue beyond expert circles, with a broader audience of Hong Kong academics/students of four local universities (HKBU, HKU, CUHK, LU) and other interested groups or individuals in mind. The EUAP cooperates with various academic and non-academic bodies, civil society groups, local enterprises and other organizations in the SAR, all of which can be addressed and/or involved in the series. The EUAP series is intended to complement existing exchange structures with Europe.
The topics we are working on include SMART CITY , GREEN CITY , SOCIAL FAIRNESS, CULTURE AND CREATIVITY and KNOWLEDGE CITY.
Meanwhile, if you are interested to co-operate with us, feel free to contact us ateuaphk@hkbu.edu.hk. We welcome all sort of ideas.
Details of our events will be announced by September. Stay tuned!
