Dr. Kern talking explaining the case of video game

In this seminar, Dr. Emmanuel Gillet, Visiting Scholar of the EUAP, shared with the audience some insights of the IP market places and the various issues in contracts. He also examined the possible legal risks in IP trading and provided some recommendations, such as insurance and financing, to mitigate the risks. Mr. Philippe Kern, Director of KEA European Affairs, examined the issues of IP in the creative industries in EU and analysed the case of video games, which is the largest online market in the world. The success of European companies in online video games, for example, Angry Bird and Candy Crush, is a good example for studying the latest trend of IP in these sectors. Before the Q&A session, Mr. Klaus Heymann, Chairman of Naxos Group of companies, gave a comprehensive overview of the IP issue in international music arena. He made some suggestions of how Hong Kong can enhance its attractiveness to become the IP trading hub in Asia or in the world.
