Event Description:

Hamburg is a growing city – facing typical urban planning challenges in the years to come: How do we develop urban qualities matching the needs for an age-friendly, smart, green and resilient city? How do we deal with climate change mitigation and economic development prospects? The conceptual approach of “More City in The City” will be displayed – as well as examples for long term developments triggered by brownfield conversion and the re-designing of greater parts of town. Heritage and new technologies have to be complementary, social cohesion, economic growth and ecological awareness are all crucial to sustain and develop the green, inclusive and growing city by the water.

This half-day seminar will discuss more in-depth urban planning challenges in the years to come, among them planning for age-friendly, smart, green and resilient cities, climate change mitigation, and economic development prospects.

This is a CCL event for HKBU students.
