HK-EU School e-Learning Project 2015

This pilot e-learning project took place over eight weeks between March and May 2015, connecting students, classes and schools between Hong Kong and the EU, by way of exchanging ideas, and collaborating through research.

A total of 218 students aged 13-18 from 21 schools (9 in Hong Kong and 12 in EU), with 8 cities across 4 EU countries, took part in the project.  Key learning subjects included Liberal Studies, Geography, Biology, Humanities and English.

A professional panel of judges from six local NGOs was invited to select the most successful project in terms of idea and implementation (known as “Best Sustainable Community Project”) with the EUAP. The Hong Kong project winners are two students from the Hong Kong Chinese Christian Churches Union Logos Academy, while the European project winners are three students from Institut Ernst Lluch of Barcelona, who have been invited to Hong Kong to visit green facilities and their partner school in the final quarter of 2015, learn about the city and green/sustainability projects in Hong Kong, and to join the Business of Design Week (BoDW) Hong Kong 2015, where Barcelona will be the partner city. They will be presented as the “Best Sustainability Ambassadors”, and their trip will be documented and displayed. Other prizes for both sides include “Best Researched Final Project”, “Best Research Team”, “Best School”, “Outstanding Portfolios”, “Outstanding Teacher Instructors” and “Highly Commended Groups”. These prizes have been awarded with participation to green workshops, Green Social Enterprise vouchers and certificates.
