CLIMATE STRATEGIST OF CITY OF MALMÖ
Joakim Nordqvist is an affiliated researcher with Environmental and Energy Systems Studies, Lund University, currently focusing on urban sustainability issues. He also holds a position as climate strategist with the City of Malmö.
As a researcher at Lund University, Mr. Nordqvist received his PhD in 2006 for his study on climate change and industrial technology transfer under Chinese conditions. He has also investigated stakeholder involvement in CDM projects in China. At the moment, he research interests focus on cities’ roles as actors for sustainability. As climate strategist for Malmö, his field of work spans across topics such as local energy planning, wind power development and other clean tech initiatives, local awareness of climate change policies, international outreach and long-term strategic considerations for the city.
